TVs are losing more and more ground to computers. Instead of waiting for the news or a show and trying to have patience with annoying commercials, you can watch whatever you want, whenever you want, on the Internet. If you are still interested in what is happening on TV, you can use ProgDVB to watch numerous online TV channels, from around the world. Anyone can connect to the available channels, without any effort, thanks to the application's simple design.

ProgDVB is available in various editions, with different prices and you can find a freeware version as well. The application works on Windows XP and all later versions, up to Win 8 and it provides support for 32 and 64-bit operating systems. The package includes a second application, called ProgTV, which can be used with a TV card and a remote control. It does not take long to install both applications, but you have to go through a series of configurations, which may confuse inexperienced users.

The user interface is designed with ease of use in mind. The available TV channels are organized according to their countries of origin, in a tree structure, on the left side of the interface. All you have to do is open a folder and select a channel and the application will establish a connection right away. ProgDVB can be used as a regular media player as well. You can load and play video and audio files from your local folder.

A series of options are available on a toolbar and you can use them to switch between different view modes, like full screen, picture in picture, mosaic or 3D. Additionally, the application allows you to record the video playback. You can start recording right away or schedule ProgDVB to record automatically at a certain time and date. The general settings panel includes numerous options, for color and geometrical adjustments, setting a 3D viewing method, managing codecs and much more.
